The San Francisco Lotus was created whilst I was teaching a workshop at the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco. The entire trip was magical. I went alone to the city and had no idea where anything was or where I was going. I was afraid. It was a three-day trip; two days of travel, and one for the workshop. I explored the city alone; going to places and avoiding places that the locals advised. I reclaimed a peace and courage lost years before. The trip to San Francisco was a lesson to me that magic happens when you lean into your fears.
